ABOUT THE RETREAT

Join us in Costa Rica for an inspiring retreat, earning your Reiki Level I & II certification, while enjoying a serene escape, spa treatments, yoga classes, organic food & more. Cost ranges from $2,600-$3,300, depending on room type. Click “Read More” below for additional details.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. It has been shown to be effective in helping a variety of health conditions, with no side effects. Because of this, it also works as a wonderful complementary method to other medical or therapeutic techniques.

During this retreat, we will gather at the beautiful Pura Vida Spa and Retreat in Costa Rica for training in Reiki Practitioners Levels I and II. In Reiki Level I, you will be attuned to Reiki energy, learn how to give Reiki to yourself and others, and receive Reiki Level I Certification. In Reiki Level II, you will receive the second level Reiki attunement, learn Level II Reiki symbols, learn how to give Distance Reiki, and receive Reiki Level II Certification.

We’ll nourish our minds and spirits with guided meditation, sharing circles, and delicious healthy meals. There will be a nice balance of learning, moving, and quiet time. During your free time, you can take time alone for yourself, take a yoga class, and avail yourself of the wonderful selection of spa services (included in the cost of the retreat).

Because of the uncertainty of COVID, this trip has the option of being postponed to either May 7-12, 2022 or December 31, 2022- January 5, 2023 if circumstances make traveling challenging. If this becomes necessary, please know that your deposit will automatically be applied to the next dates. Please save this, and future dates on your calendar. ABOUT YOUR HOSTS

Vanessa Ferragut, CMP, Usui Reiki Master Teacher, is a Sustainable Event and Meeting Planner in Washington, DC. She is the founder of Ferragut Event Group, an event planning company that focuses on sustainable meetings and events. She is passionate about supporting organizations that embrace sustainability in their business and service practices, promote community activism, and minimize their overall environmental impact in the hospitality sector. She has been practicing Reiki since 2012 and is the owner of ReikiNessDC - a Reiki Studio located in Georgetown.

Mary Kearns, PhD, Usui Reiki Master Teacher has a passion for working with people of all ages to develop mind, body and spirit wellness. She is a RYT200 yoga teacher with a PhD in Developmental Psychology, focusing on how bio-psycho-social-spiritual factors influence healthy human development throughout the lifespan and across cultures. In addition, she is a Certified Life Coach, and has also studied herbalism, past life regression, and various shamanistic traditions. She is the owner of Your Stellar Self, LLC a wellness practice in Falls Church, VA, and Partner at Gather+Grow Global.

ABOUT THE VENUE

Pura Vida Retreat & Spa is located in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Spanning more than 8 acres at 4,900 feet above sea level, Pura Vida is surrounded by coffee plantations overlooking Costa Rica’s Central Valley. Tucked serenely in the clouds, nearly a mile above the city, the refreshing mountain air, purifying and cleansing rains offer an opportunity to enliven the senses as you enter the season of turning within.

ROOM DESCRIPTIONS

Kiva

These mountainside rooms offer plenty of space and comfort, with both king-size or two twin beds available. The Kiva building houses six total units – two units on top floor, two units on middle floor and two units on lower floor. The top and middle units are called “Kiva Upper” and the lower floor units are “Kiva Lower.”  Kiva Upper units have balconies overlooking the Central Valley, while the Kiva Lower units have private patios overlooking tropical gardens and greenery.

Vista

These deluxe style rooms feature private balconies with gorgeous views. Approximately 250 square feet, these rooms are great for single occupancy, but spacious enough for a comfortable roommate set-up. King-size or two twin beds available.

A-Frame

Our bright A-Frame cottages with private balconies offer panoramic tranquil coffee plantation views. Soaring ceilings add spaciousness and light. Option of king-size or two twin beds.

CANCELLATION POLICY

(a)   Due to the nature of this event and because we have obligations to pay the resort to secure your room, there is a $200 non-refundable administrative fee on all purchases.

(b)  You (or any member of your party) may cancel your booking at any time, providing that the cancellation is made by the person submitting the booking form and we are notified in writing. Cancellation will take effect the day such notification is received by us. Should you choose to cancel your participation in the Retreat prior to 30 days before the start of the Retreat, you will receive a refund of the total amount paid to Company minus the non-refundable deposit of $200. If such cancellation is made within less than 30 days before the start of the retreat, we will retain the full amount paid. However, if another person can be found to take your place, then we may offer you a refund at our discretion.

(c)   Bookings are for the stated period of the retreat. There are no refunds for an unused portion of the retreat. If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of your Insurance Policy, you may be able to make a claim on your insurance.
